Date night at the Minor Wedding!
This is Jon. Brittany and I had a weekend to ourselves a week and a half ago, which was great since we went to a wedding where we just hung out with friends and didn't have to worry about where our kids were or what trouble they were brewing. We've known Brady and Ashley (now Mr. and Mrs. Minor) for a while now. Brady is a very accomplished team roper, going to the National Finals Rodeo with his brother Riley (the best man) for two years and they've both finished in the top 20 in the world the last three years. Ashley played basketball at Cle Elum-Roslyn High School for Ryan Hill and is now a teacher in the county. The wedding was in a rodeo arena, which was perfect, where the ring bearers came out on horses and the bridesmaids walked down the aisle to the song, "Pretty Woman". Beef and chicken were on the BBQ, the beers and margaritas were aplenty and the music was played by the same DJ we had at our wedding. Brittany and I guessed there were 400 people there, but it probably could have been another 200 people there, but since the wedding was in the middle of "California Run" of a bunch of springtime rodeos in the Golden State, there were plenty of cowboys who couldn't make the trip. Really fun time, though.
I mostly put this picture up for James so he could have a picture of his brother in a suit and a cowboy hat.
This is Barbara Bledsoe, Brittany's 7th grade teacher in Yakima. Anyone who knows football knows that her son Drew Bledsoe played football for Wazzu and went on to play in two Super Bowls for the New England Patriots. Brittany and Mrs. Bledsoe picked up where they left off in 7th grade as we randomly sat next to each other for dinner. It was really nice to meet her.
This is the only decent picture I got of the happy couple. Everything else is a blurry mess from the dance floor.
Brady's mom, Mary, who I joke is my PR coordinator for rodeo coverage. Mary knows where Brady and Riley are on the road at all times. She can tell me what their times are, what rodeo is next, if they're driving all night or stopping somewhere to rest, where they're at in the world standings, what horse is healthy, what son isn't healthy, etc. Great lady and a great family.
Brittany and I danced for a solid two hours easy. The music was great, the dance floor was packed. She's a great dance partner........
