First day of school for our 1st grader, Delaney!

This is Jon. Today was Delaney's first day of 1st grade. I can't believe how time flies! Yesterday was the open house where she was able to see her room and check out her desk (although Mrs. K and her classroom were right across the hall from her kindergarten class).
Open house the afternoon before school. Delaney was thrilled to check things out. Her desk is right in the front of the classroom.
Good friend Ruby with Delaney. Ruby and her baby sister Lyla are hanging out with us this fall quarter as her mom finishes up her student teaching. I've learned that like my own kids a few years ago babies don't like me.

Excited Delaney right outside of her classroom. I should've taken a picture of Brittany outside of the school at the Parent Group table. Anyone who has been following this blog will remember that Brittany was voted in as President of the club, so she's a pretty big deal.

When Mommy's sick and Daddy's in charge...

...this happens... Addy is potty training (quite successfully and very quickly I might add) so she's pretty much pantsless 24/7. She doesn't usually wear Brittany's boots, though. That's Addy again, wearing Delaney's wicked witch hat. Don't know where she got it. Delaney and her sunflower she's been growing since the last few days of school. It finally bloomed at the beginning of this week...and Delaney's wearing Mommy's boots now.

Quarterly update from KTown

Spring sports with Delaney playing volleyball for the second straight year. This year was noticeably different as her league included fifth through eighth graders. Adelyn with her second year of softball. Again, a noticeably different level of competition. Delaney will eat anything, just like me. Food is fun, especially when you try new things. We're at the Crab Pot along the Seattle waterfront and we got a seafeast of salmon, crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and corn. It was deee-lish. Dee Dee and her shrimp...right before she ripped its head off to grub down. Kittitas day at the Mariners game. 80 of our closest friends from KTown in attendance. Took Adelyn and Brittany to Saltwater State Park. Adelyn loved the shells, crabs and the clams underneath the surface squirting water.
