Christmas morning!

OK, so I woke up around 7-ish and got out of bed around 7:30, but c'mon people, no one else got up until I heard Adelyn talking to herself two hours later at 9:30!!! I thought kids were like roosters on Christmas morning where at the first sign of the sun coming up over the horizon, they're up and ready to roll........

Addy Bear very excited to start the day.


Adelyn waltzed right into Delaney's room to calmly wake her up. It took a minute or two.

Addy got down to business by digging into her stocking.

One year I gave Brittany some cute socks in her stocking. That was seven years ago and I haven't stopped. I guess that's my cute thing on Christmas morning.

Delaney posing with an apron she received. Instead of showing it off, she struck a pose like a movie star on the red carpet.

Grandpa Jeff and Grandma Sharon gave the girls matching "world traveler" suitcases complete with a panda bear and polar bear. Plenty of maps, stickers and adoption papers for their bears.

Both girls got a few new pairs of shoes. Addy's sporting some pink trimmed Nikes now.

Combing Delaney's hair has been a bit of a battle lately. So her wonderful and thoughtful mommy decided to pack up a hair care kit: Shampoo, hair detangler, a new comb that doesn't pull hair (seriously, it's awesome) and some "hair pretties" (clips and barrets). Delaney is in heaven.

When Mommy's sick and Daddy's in charge...

...this happens... Addy is potty training (quite successfully and very quickly I might add) so she's pretty much pantsless 24/7. She doesn't usually wear Brittany's boots, though. That's Addy again, wearing Delaney's wicked witch hat. Don't know where she got it. Delaney and her sunflower she's been growing since the last few days of school. It finally bloomed at the beginning of this week...and Delaney's wearing Mommy's boots now.

Quarterly update from KTown

Spring sports with Delaney playing volleyball for the second straight year. This year was noticeably different as her league included fifth through eighth graders. Adelyn with her second year of softball. Again, a noticeably different level of competition. Delaney will eat anything, just like me. Food is fun, especially when you try new things. We're at the Crab Pot along the Seattle waterfront and we got a seafeast of salmon, crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and corn. It was deee-lish. Dee Dee and her shrimp...right before she ripped its head off to grub down. Kittitas day at the Mariners game. 80 of our closest friends from KTown in attendance. Took Adelyn and Brittany to Saltwater State Park. Adelyn loved the shells, crabs and the clams underneath the surface squirting water.
