It must be rodeo season in Ellensburg

This is Jon. Summer break in Ellensburg ends with an exclamation point with the Kittitas County Fair, Ellensburg Rodeo and all the hooplah that comes along with it.
Adelyn and Delaney with Jason and Utah at a friend's ranch. Every year the WestStar Ranch hosts a Best of the Best roping where the best calf ropers and team ropers compete for a separate jackpot before the Ellensburg Rodeo. This year the purse was $130,000, so it attracts everyone.
Yes, the chute looks dirty, but the girls look adorable here. They're also wearing their new boots.

The during and after rides sequences. Both girls got the most out of their ride wristbands. This was a big year for Adelyn because she was able to ride all the big rides. It was a big year for Delaney because she played the role of big sister making sure Adelyn got to experience vomit inducing fun.
Friday night Ellensburg Rodeo.
Delaney, taking seriously the role of statistician. She wrote down every time and score so well. Usually that's Brittany's job, but on Friday, she was more of the supervisor of the task.

When Mommy's sick and Daddy's in charge...

...this happens... Addy is potty training (quite successfully and very quickly I might add) so she's pretty much pantsless 24/7. She doesn't usually wear Brittany's boots, though. That's Addy again, wearing Delaney's wicked witch hat. Don't know where she got it. Delaney and her sunflower she's been growing since the last few days of school. It finally bloomed at the beginning of this week...and Delaney's wearing Mommy's boots now.

Quarterly update from KTown

Spring sports with Delaney playing volleyball for the second straight year. This year was noticeably different as her league included fifth through eighth graders. Adelyn with her second year of softball. Again, a noticeably different level of competition. Delaney will eat anything, just like me. Food is fun, especially when you try new things. We're at the Crab Pot along the Seattle waterfront and we got a seafeast of salmon, crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and corn. It was deee-lish. Dee Dee and her shrimp...right before she ripped its head off to grub down. Kittitas day at the Mariners game. 80 of our closest friends from KTown in attendance. Took Adelyn and Brittany to Saltwater State Park. Adelyn loved the shells, crabs and the clams underneath the surface squirting water.
