Last of the corn

Well, fall is definitely upon us now as our garden is free of most of our vegetables. Just the pumpkins remain now, 6 weeks before Halloween. These next couple of shots are of me and the girls shucking corn. Our final tally was 10 ears earlier this week, although we left a handful in the garden as they didn't really grow much. Brittany and I learned a few things: We probably should've watered more and we're going to position the corn in a different spot in our backyard next year. Someone also told us to line the corn in a North/South formation. We went West/East. The corn we did get was good. I was impressed. I'm really happy, as were my three girls.

We were going to roast this corn but decided against it since it looks like I was already roasted myself. Great photo of me.

When Mommy's sick and Daddy's in charge...

...this happens... Addy is potty training (quite successfully and very quickly I might add) so she's pretty much pantsless 24/7. She doesn't usually wear Brittany's boots, though. That's Addy again, wearing Delaney's wicked witch hat. Don't know where she got it. Delaney and her sunflower she's been growing since the last few days of school. It finally bloomed at the beginning of this week...and Delaney's wearing Mommy's boots now.

Quarterly update from KTown

Spring sports with Delaney playing volleyball for the second straight year. This year was noticeably different as her league included fifth through eighth graders. Adelyn with her second year of softball. Again, a noticeably different level of competition. Delaney will eat anything, just like me. Food is fun, especially when you try new things. We're at the Crab Pot along the Seattle waterfront and we got a seafeast of salmon, crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, sausage and corn. It was deee-lish. Dee Dee and her shrimp...right before she ripped its head off to grub down. Kittitas day at the Mariners game. 80 of our closest friends from KTown in attendance. Took Adelyn and Brittany to Saltwater State Park. Adelyn loved the shells, crabs and the clams underneath the surface squirting water.
