Some pics from the fair and rodeo
The annual Labor Day Kittitas County Fair and Ellensburg Rodeo was last week and like usual, it was awesome.
With us here is Tuf Cooper. Tuf is the defending world champion calf roper and he was signing autographs at Old Mill Country Store in Ellensburg. He's a great guy. Very gracious, talked to each person waiting for an autograph and posed for whatever picture was requested. Whenever I call him for interviews, he gives me whatever time I need. His dad is seven-time world champion calf roper, Roy "Super Looper" Cooper. He has two older brothers, Clint and Clif, who also rope and last year all three brothers were at the National Finals Rodeo together, which I think is pretty cool. His sister, Shada, is a barrel racer and is married to Trevor Brazile, who is a 16-time world champion. His uncle, Stran, is a former world champion as well. The genes in that family must be unbelievable.
Me and my statistician, 13th year at the Ellensburg Rodeo...
This is Steven Dent. He's second in the world in bareback riding this week. He and his traveling partners are called "The Pride" (like a pride of lions) and they commonly take a video camera with them to film their rides and antics while on the road. Dent rode a Calgary Stampede horse, but didn't make any money in Ellensburg.
This is a blurry photo, but I think you can get the gist of this picture as to what's going to happen in about 0.3 seconds.
What did we do on Thursday? Bought unlimited ride bracelets for the girls and they went crazy. This is one of the many rides they did together. It was one of the few non-blurry photos I took of them on the day.
Had to take this one because Delaney is now tall enough to ride many of the adult rides. Adelyn had an issue with that on a few of them. There were some she could ride as long as Delaney sat next to her, but Delaney wanted to ride a few that Adelyn couldn't. So, this was Adelyn's reaction. Yes, taking this picture makes me a horrible parent.
Facial expressions are awesome in this photo.
There was a coloring contest around town coloring cowboy boots for a prize of a gift certificates for...free boots. I thought the girls did pretty good. They didn't win because (according to my wife) it was fixed.

D-Rae's entry.
