This is Jon. I've downloaded more pictures of us in Rexburg. Taking a break from putting up Christmas lights, chillaxin' on the roof with Jerrod. The significance of this photo is not necessarily the photo itself, but the fact that Jerrod got into some pretty dicey situations on the ladder. Sometimes I was too freaked to snap a photo, so this is the least scary part of the day. Jerrod is actually bracing himself on the edge of the roof which is covered in ice. Again, icy area. But not icy enough to not put on Christmas lights. The guy's a machine. Jerrod in a compromising situation. This one's for you, Megan. Christmas tree hunting. Jerrod, Jayden and Jeffery. Totally God's country up there. Glad we had the 4x4. The man, the myth, the legend. Yep, my photo is on the wall inside. These two photos were taken in July (I think). Wells Fargo travels with their horses and stagecoach all around the country and the truck and trailer were parked in Kittitas (of all pl...

Happy Birthday Brittany!

Image
Brittany turned 29 (31) on Thursday and we celebrated with breakfast in bed that morning and then took her out to dinner that night. Brittany's parents came up as well as Logan and Lyndsey so we had plenty of people to celebrate. Great photo of my great lookin' girls. Logan's birthday was two days prior, so it was somewhat of a celebration for both. The drink in front of Brittany was a cherry limeade slush, which I believe is now her favorite drink ever. The girls were stealing it as much as they could from her. Twilight!!!!!! The board game. Not sure what the girls are doing here, but they were having a blast with a laundry hamper. 31 never looked so good..................

Decorating the tree...

Image
This is Jon. After getting the tree, I knew we were looking at a little triming of the trunk and top of the tree. After all, our ceilings are just a bit taller than eight feet and our tree was an estimated 11 feet when we took it out of the woods.........something was gonna have to give. Those are clippers and that's me negotiating the ceiling. Delaney and Adelyn were a bit aggressive in placing ornaments on the tree. Like many of us, I'm sure, most of our ornaments have sentimental value. Brittany and I have gotten in the habit of buying an ornament from wherever we've been. I don't know what's going to happen when we're married for 20 years because at 7+ years, we've got plenty! This one's for you, Megan. The girls LOVE their aprons, I think they've worn them every day since we've been home from Rexburg. They wear them in the kitchen, they wear them anywhere. Brittany had them get step stools to help in whatever she was cooking. Delaney got h...

Hunting for a Christmas Tree!

Image
This is Jon. Instead of going to a tree lot or an organized tree farm, the last few years we've headed out with into the woods with a saw and a $5 forest pass to cut down our own tree. We've gone to a couple of places on Hwy 97 as you head up toward Blewett and went back to a place we haven't been to since we started this tradition. Two years ago, there was tons of snow. Last year - nothing. This year was a mix of 20 degree temps and enough snow to keep your toes cold. My girls bundled up. Seriously. How lucky am I? Look at these beauties! This is the very first tree we saw as we headed into the woods. The girls were game. I convinced them to look a little harder. This is us along Swauk Creek. Yes, it's frozen. Yes, it made us colder just looking at it. There was a little bit of a trickle of creek movement, but that's about it. Beautiful view. The scenery behind her is great, too. How lucky am I to have a cute girl bundle up to brave the elements with me? We fo...

KTOWN Guddats head to Rexburg!

Image
We finally got to get back to Rexburg after a three-year hiatus. We've been looking forward to getting back over to see Jerrod, Megan, Jocely, Jayden and Jeffery for a long time for Thanksgiving and to see their house, which, by the way is awesome. They have a great home and Megan has decorated the home very well. She's got class. Good call, Jerrod to allow her to marry into "Club Guddat". This was taken the night before we left. The girls decided to comb grandma's hair. As you can tell, they're very proud of their work. Forever my copilot. I absolutely love road tripping with Brittany. Before we had kids, she would go to pretty much every game that took me out of town when I worked as the sports editor for the Daily Record, where we would just talk and laugh the whole way. This trip was no different. Adelyn, obviously too busy to peek around her interesting book for a photo. Playing "Duck, Duck, Goose" while waiting for the Thanksgiving turkey to...

More pictures from Rexburg

Here we go with another round of pictures. Sure, it might not be good for his eyes, but I thought this was funny how close Jayden was to the TV. Grandma Debbie, Nana, reading stories to surprisingly attentive grandkids. This photo is out of sequence, but I had to take a picture of the girls. This was taken Sunday night, after a 10-hour drive and after a trip that included the initial 10-hour drive. Basically the girls were inches away from each other all week long and not only did they travel perfectly, but as soon as they got home they put their jammies on and cuddled on the couch together. Jerrod and I putting up lights. The guy is motivated to be the top house on the block. He'll be one of those houses that the newspaper lists as a decorated home to see during Christmas light season. Jerrod negotiating a part of the roof with snow. I'm high centered on the roof above him. Craft time for the girls. While the girls were making crafts, Jerrod, Jayden, Jeffery and I all went...

Random pics of our trip to Rexburg

Image
Here are more random pics from our Rexburg Thanksgiving trip. I'll admit it. I'm a minivan fan. We needed more room for the trip since we were taking a full house plus luggage for everyone. (By the way, my needs fit into a corner of a suitcase, the clothing for the other four women in the van? Not so much). Here I am proud as a peacock in Pendleton. Love's gas station in Oregon. Seriously. Cool. Name. Delaney spent a combined 11 hours climbing up the stairs and sliding down. I've encouraged her to do the same on our back porch stairs, but hard, freezing concrete in the wintertime isn't conducive to fun. What's Jayden doing? Yeah, that sign says "Rigby, the birthplace of television", but everyone knows that factoid. The photo isn't significant. What's significant is the action immediately before this photo was taken. The neighbor dogs had a tendancy to try and sneak into Jerrod's garage, but he wasn't having any of that on his watch. ...
